PROFILE
Gandalf was born in Green Castle, PA, on Saturday May 23, 2015, to Gabby and Jackson, both of whom were second generation Goldendoodles weighing about 45 lbs. He was one of nine puppies in the litter, six black and three golden. He was temporarily named Sven and the following is a YouTube video of him at 5 weeks old:

The Murphy family, Liam, Laura, Daniel, and Brendan, picked him up in Philadelphia on Saturday, July 18, 2015. He was renamed Gandalf that evening. He was, unfortunately, traumatized on his second day in Vermont when he was put into Lake Champlain to swim. He has never recovered and still does not like to go into the water.
After his first birthday he began running with Liam as he trained for his marathons. No matter how many miles, and it was often 20 miles on some days, he never stopped, never tired, and always wanted to keep running. He runs off leash and stays close—except if a squirrel is close by.
Gandalf began his formal training at Barks and Recreation in Monkton, Vermont. He continues his training at Chances Canine Club, where he joins a pack run on a farm in Colchester with a
dozen other dogs four mornings of every week.
He is remarkably friendly and loves people. He regularly demands that his coworkers rub his head and give him scratches. He also requires occasional hand-holding.
His friendliness and calm personality make him a great client greeter and morale booster. Gandalf is an asset to the firm and provides love and encouragement to anyone who needs it.
